On the Atlantic’s edge hidden quietly between large coconut palms and hot pink hibiscus flowers is the Cheeca Lodge.

This laid back resort is perfectly located between Key Largo and Key West. You can’t really see this from the road or overseas highway as it’s affectionately known. This is what I love about this place! The relaxed elegance yet unsurpassed service is what the best part is. The keys typically are totally relaxed, flip flops ,great sunsets and lets not forget those frozen drinks from hell!! Or just refer to them as a frozen gift from the sea gods. Somehow not sure actually they go down so quickly. Hmm.

This resort has it all for a little winter escape form the cold or just everyday life. The rooms and suites are all nice. I prefer the main building facing the ocean .There are a few suites that even have Jacuzzi tubs outside. The property has plenty to offer if you like or if not this is a great place to just “chill”.

The dining choices are great! They have great Tiki Bar where you can always find some kind of tropical inspired drink flowing. You can also get small plates here or if you like they can rustle up some rosemary and parmesan fries. Okay so maybe on this day you wear a one piece!!
They also have the Atlantic’s Edge here you can find fabulous local seafood or prime steaks. It offers inside and outside dining so you can choose. They also if you were lucky enough to catch something will prepare for you. Nice!
The spa also can offer you even more relaxation if you choose from poolside massages to a bring me back to life facial!
As you have heard yes the keys do have the best sunsets which is why I would also recommend a 2 hour charter not to miss one.

For those with the need of adventure they do have scuba, snorkel and sea kayak trips. I love to snorkel but learned the hard way to wear a bigger bikini ! I came back a little toasty!! The sun is hot !!
